More information about The Doors of Perception - Aldous Huxley (Harper & Row, 1954) 1st ed. “L-M” print

First American edition early printing (code, “L-M”) hardcover copy of The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley (Harper & Brothers, 1954). Print code identifies this copy as being printed in November of 1962. Rare early copy of this iconic nonfiction work examining psychedelics, the arts, creativity, philosophy, the occult, spirituality and hallucinations. A visionary work by the author of A Brave just-arrived World and a lot of others.

Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and some tears. Blue Ribbon seal partially removed causing blemishes to front cover and spine. Small but if liquid damage to fore edge of front cover causing waviness and some staining. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is straight and binding remains firm. Foxing to top outer edge of text block and some mostly erased underlining and margin marks, in red pencil.
