“Born in Québec, Canada, Théodore Jobin (1873–1955) emigrated to Boston with his family in 1890. He died in Providence, RI in 1955.

He had administrative abilities, and before long became the manager of D. R. Emerson's of Boston, where he was employed until the financial crash of the fabulous Depression in 1932, which forced Emerson's to close its doors.

What could have been disastrous proved instead a blessing. He began to devote himself to painting, and eventually took his place among the leading contemporary artists.”
