Set of 6 OCCUPIED JAPAN demitasse cups
This is a beautiful set of 6 vintage Moriage hand-painted tiny cups and saucers, manufactured in Japan. The hand-painted floral designs with a raised “Moriage” accent add a special touch to the overall aesthetic, making it a charming addition to any tea set collection. Made in occupied Japan, (1945-1952] this set is a rare find for collectors interested in Japanese cultural artifacts. This set features a soft yellow base, white & mauve flowers, blue ring & gold accents. All cups/saucers show no cracks. There is some wear, normal for its age. One cup has .5” chip on inside of rim, does not show up from the outside. (I lowered the start bid for this reason, and honestly, didn’t even notice it till I took these photos!)They are a lovely buttery luster that is so delicate as to be translucent . The saucers are nearly 4”, the cups are 1.5” tall, 2” across. All saucers are marked MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN, while the cups are not marked, though obviously a set. Thanks for looking!
